Dr. Kiriko and Black Jack. I keep running into that pairing in all of the japanese fanart sites. I've read one little story with both Kiriko and Black Jack in it. This is interesting, I shall have to consider this.

:Hmmmm...: Aw hell, I think that I'll just have to continue to read more volumes, but damn do the japanese draw Dr. Kiriko all sorts of hot.

Okay here's the scenario.

Dr. Black Jack is in Austrailia and he happens upon some wierd ass disease that Osamu Tezuka made up. This household was killed by this disease. before he could do expiriments to figure out the strain of it, a plane runs into the house and burns ALL the evidence.

But that's not the cool part.

He's out there in the hot austrailian desert. He has no gas and he starts to develop the spots that he saw on the dead people in the farmhouse. He takes samples of his blood and of course he has a do-it-yourself labwork kit in his doctor's bag so he finds out that he has a tapeworm of sorts.

He decides to randomly OPERATE ON HIMSELF. I am not kidding, he lays himself down, applies some local anesthetic and then he goes to town with his scalpel, I mean he CUTS HIS ABDOMEN AND STARTS TO POKE AROUND. But but wait, no.. that's not the best part. (even though you would THINK it was)

A bunch of rabid dingos smell his blood and comes running. What does he do? What any normal doctor operating in the desert would do, he fights them off in between incisions. I AM NOT KIDDING.. HE GOES KUNG-FU SCALPEL ON THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF SURGERY IN THE MOST GAR SCENE EVER.. HE MAKES KAMINA LOOK LIKE A CRUMPET EATING TEA DRESS WEARING PUSSY.

My panties are wet.

Tis official... :insert ellipsis for dramatic effect here:

Black Jack manga makes me hard in ways that I cannot fathom. (yes I said hard, right now I'm sporting a hard on, in my brain mind you but it's still there). Can anyone be as COOL as Black Jack? That's what I want to know. Halfway through the first story of volume 2, I'm like 'damn Black Jack, I love you and want to marry you'. I'd probably get beat up by Pinoko. (which reminds me, I don't support that pairing, I see it as primarily father/daughter sort of thing, I could of shipped it if not for the fact that during the fireworks thing when she wet her panties, and then he was like 'Pinoko, panties please?' and handled the situation in a phenomenal way. Still I think she's cute when she is like "BLACK JACK IS MY HUSBAND" and he's 'Pinoko.. shush'.

Black Jack needs to marry me. (hell, I'm not a doctor and even I know that this manga throws bullshit everywhere but it's sort of fun when you just hang your disbelief up at the door, that allows you to better enjoy it.)

I'll probably finish Princess Tutu within a week's time, be prepared for a review then.

Also concerning Suikoden Tierkreis. Roberto/Asad tickles my fancy. Still haven't found anyone that I like for Jale :woe:

Do to extended research, basically me using a translation service to find the series I was looking for on Surpara and then finding a series that I knew close to it and then counting backwards, I finally alighted onto the word for Black Jack.

If you want Black Jack fanart but don't want to surf through mountains of sites on Surpara, just plug in this handy dandy phrase into the search box.

ブラックジャック

That's Black Jack right there.   It's the short cut way (luckily it was close to マクロスFRONTIER which I am also familar with,) anything really to make browsing japanese fanart sites easier, that way the pretty is MINES.

Oh god,  To Terra was awesome.. my first foray into truly old school anime (well I lie, I watched a good 35 episodes of Oniisama E which is also old school) but I sat down with the first volume of Black Jack and I have to say one word.

Damn!

I must own this entire series!  No really.

I love love love love love this series, and I love Black Jack, I like House yes, but I can see why Japan thinks of House as the japanese Black Jack,   But I'm just entranced by this book series, I love him.. the look of him, the fact that he has a handicap (a very major one too.. or at least a dashing scar). and I love that he does the surgeries that other people don't want leaked, and he charges like EXORBITANT prices for it. (90 million YEN.  I mean this is back in the seventies too.. so do the math)

I think I can justify ordering the series as it's a strong old school manga that's very compelling and while the artwork is dated, the story is very enjoyable and translates well to this modern time.
